About

I’m Stacey Chacon. I’m glad you’re here.

If we haven’t formally met, I’m a lifelong artist and graphic designer. I live in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina with my husband, our three children, and a pup named Ollie.

Artist

From a young age, I have dreamed of living the artist life (without the doom of the starving artist myth!). Creativity has played a major role in every aspect of my life. I create art from a variety of mediums, but mostly watercolor, ink and digital tools. Most of my work is influenced by nature, florals, and pattern, and inspirational words and scriptures. I like to keep things perfectly imperfect through motifs and meditations.

Graphic Design

I’ve been good friends with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign for more than 20 years. (And before that, PageMaker and Quark were also ol’ pals since high school and college!)

I received my Bachelor of Arts in Multimedia Arts & Sciences from UNC-Asheville in 2004. I have experience with branding and marketing collateral for conferences and retreats, brochures, booklets, magazines and newsletters, as well as digital design for presentations, ads, email newsletters and social media. I’ve worked one-on-one with small business owners, marketing agencies, and in-house large corporate teams. In addition to my freelance work, I’ve served as Communications Director and Graphic Designer for a non-profit organization since 2009.

Licensing, Commissions & Collaboration

My dream is to continue to work full time as an artist, collaborating with dream clients through licensing opportunities. If you have a project in mind, feel free to contact me at stacey@staceychacon.com to start the conversation.

Personal Interests

I am the wife of a high school Spanish teacher, and mom to three kids (and a Great Pyrenees puppy!). Our involvement in school, sports, music and community events keep us pretty busy throughout the school year.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends exploring nature on the many waterfalls and trails around our gorgeous Blue Ridge Mountains. I enjoy getting close to nature through photography and art. We also enjoy beach trips as opportunities to experience new places, beach combing, and visiting local art and nature exhibitions.

I also enjoy creating art in my studio (also known our kitchen table) – painting, writing, teaching and learning through online art classes, and creating short art video demos to share on social media. I also enjoy tennis, cooking, and playing “tourist” at the local dives and attractions.
